Kampot, Cambodia Mission, 15-22 June 2019 - We are FULL!
Kampot located in Southern Cambodia, is a 3 hours’ drive from Phnom Penh International Airport where ACTS will run a week long outreach during our June school holiday period to spend time with Cambodian young students and villagers from the Saint Augustine Kampot Archdiocese headed by Fr. Tavola Gianluca.
We will organise small and intimate groups for play, music, art and craft and fun English classes suitable for kindergarten students (and hopefully to a new Montessori kindergarten if we have sign ups who are familiar in the Montessori method of education) and Elementary Grade 1 & 2 students at several school locations. This year, we will have great need for a handywork’s team to update an existing playground and to build new playground at another village Catholic centre, to help harvest fruits and pepper on the farm and lots of painting work including mural art.
ACTS will run free medical clinics at the schools and other Catholic community centres in nearby villages of Chum Kiri, Prek Pros, Koh Sla and Phnom Voar to young and old and to some who have never been seen by a doctor or dentist before.
Restricted to a group of 40, ACTS is looking for participants between 13 and 65 years of old with the appropriate skills set for the tasks described, be willing to commit to a complete week from 15th to 22nd June, be ready to rough it out and more importantly, happy to receive the spirit of Christ in our services and with the people that we meet.
Application closes on 1st March 2019. You will then be notified to attend a Mission Preparation Session where you can find out more about the mission outreach and what is expected from you.
ACTS Kampot 2019 is co-ordinated by Chris & Trixie Chan and lead by our Spiritual Director Friar Esmond Chua.
