Philippines Mission, 29 Nov – 6 Dec 2025 Registration


Mission size: 45-50 participants

 

Our mission to the Philippines is to a resettlement area in Cavite, a 90-minute drive south of Metro Manila. The families here live in “container” homes — small, one-room structures lined up in rows that form settlements of over 1,000 homes each. Working with the Salesian Sisters and their lay-volunteer arm, VIDES, we travel to an Elementary School in the slum area to attend to 700+ Grade 5 students. There we conduct self-confidence, cyber-wellness and virtues programmes. We also spend a day with the residents in several villages(Barangays) visiting their homes/communities and praying with them. Finally, we organise a party for the elderly living on the streets in Manila, to share Christmas joy with them. This year, we will organize an optional one-day pilgrimage to the Holy Doors in Manila to celebrate the end of the Jubilee Year.

 

As we are a small group of 50+ on this mission, everyone is involved in all aspects of the mission. We work as a close-knit group and invite anyone aged between 18–70 to join our community and experience the Love of God among us and in the people we encounter.

 

Estimated Cost (SGD):
1. $250: Mission Fee* – covering all transport, food and all meals for 7 days
2. ~$230: 7 nights accommodations
3. ~$300-$400: Approximate Economy airfare for SIN-MNL-SIN

 

Application closes on 22 June 2025. You will need to attend a Mission Awareness session to understand details about the mission outreach and what is expected from you. Participants who are still interested will be required to attend at least 3 further preparation sessions & some sub-team planning meetings.

MISSION OVERVIEW

 

AIRFARE
Participants are responsible for purchasing their own flight tickets and travel insurance (this is mandatory).

 

ACCOMMODATION
Hotel reservations will be arranged for participants and all room and miscellaneous charges incurred will be settled by participants upon check out on the last day.
Roommate must be either siblings/parent-child or of the same gender, if unrelated.

 

COST

Mission fee for Philippines is SGD 250 per person. This amount is used to help defray costs incurred for Philippines airport transfers to and from hotel, all meals, daily water supply, local coach transfers and any expenses that may arise during mission week. It does not include airfare, hotel accommodation for the week and any personal expenses. Any excess balance from the total fee collected will be put back into the ACTS Central Mission Fund for use the following year. There will be no refunds of Mission Fees except on medical grounds or by appeal due to exceptional circumstances.

 

PRE MISSION COMMITMENT
In preparation for a meaningful outreach experience, you will need to attend 4 Pre-Mission sessions. In particular, participants will not be confirmed for the mission until after they attend the Mission Awareness session on 27 July 2025. Please do not book travel until you have been officially confirmed for the mission.

TRAVEL
All participants must arrive on/before the morning of 29th Nov 2025, and depart on 6th or 7th Dec 2025.
