Dear friends of ACTS,
This year we are excited to carry out our mission at a new location at An Binh Elementary School which is located at Vinh Thanh, Can Tho, Vietnam.
Cần Thơ is the fourth largest city in Vietnam and the largest city in the Mekong Delta . This location is about 190km from Ho Chi Minh City & 65km from Cần Thơ city center. It will take about 5hour land journey from Tan Son Nhat International airport. This will be our 6th year of mission at Vietnam supporting the Institute of Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
Three Salesian sisters are officially assigned since Year 2017 to manage the school, to help improve the quality of teaching and to carry out the mission of education . Many of the students have to take boats across the rivers to attend school daily as their houses are built along the riverside in this Mekong Delta region. The area is frequently flooded during the raining seasons.
During summer holidays, ACTS will run a week long programme together with the Sisters & teachers for the young children. Our activities will include conducting simple English lessons, organize art and craft and outdoor fun activities for kindergarten to elementary level as well as conduct lessons on basic hygiene habits. We will also reach out to the needy family by delivering humanitarian parcels consisting of basic food essentials.
Join us in this meaningful mission which will happen from 5th July to 11th July 2020 to share the spirit of Christ and bring joy to the people that we meet. Application closes on 29th February 2020. You will be informed to attend mission awareness & formation sessions to understand about this mission requirements. Stay tuned!
God Bless from ACTS Vietnam team
