Battambang June, Cambodia Mission, 14–21 June 2025 Registration

Mission size: 50–60 participants

Battambang is a city in North-Western Cambodia, about a 5.5 hours’ drive from Phnom Penh International Airport. During the June school holidays, ACTS will run a week-long outreach with students and villagers from Chrab Viel (Mother of Peace Primary School) and ADC Don Bosco Vithayalai School.

Our activities will include music, arts &crafts, fun English, storytelling and "Grow Your Own Food in the Garden" for the Elementary Grades 1 to 6 and Secondary levels in both schools.

We hope to invite:

• Elementary school teachers and educators who enjoy creating fun learning with arts & crafts, plays, dance, storytelling and science.
• Individuals with green fingers to share their gardening skills in our ""Growing Your Own Food"" initiative with the students.

Restricted to a group of 60, ACTS is looking for participants between 10 and 70 years of age. Children between 10 and 14 years old MUST be accompanied by at least one parent. The estimated cost is $1000- $1100 which covers airfare, accommodation, mission fees (including water, land transport and most meals) but excludes personal expenses.

Applications close on 9 March 2025. You will then be notified to attend Mission Awareness and Formation Sessions (between March and May) where you can find out more details about the mission outreach and what is expected of you.

Youths below 15 years old must be accompanied by their parent for the mission.

Youths below 19 years old must be accompanied by an Adult / Guardian for the mission.

A guardianship responsibility is extended to no more than 2 minors not of kin.

MISSION OVERVIEW

AIRFARE
Participants are responsible for purchasing their own flight tickets. Travel insurance is compulsory.

ACCOMMODATION
Hotel reservations will be arranged for participants and all room and miscellaneous charges incurred will be settled by participants upon check out on the last day.

COST

"Mission fee for Battambang is SGD250 per person. This amount is used to help defray costs incurred for local bus transfers, most meals, daily water supply, and any expenses that may arise during mission week. It does not include airfare, hotel accommodation for the week and any personal expenses. Any balance from the total fees collected will be put back into the ACTS Central Mission Fund for use the following year. There will be no refunds  of Mission Fees except on medical grounds or by appeal due to exceptional circumstances.

PRE MISSION COMMITMENT
In preparation for a meaningful outreach experience, you will need to attend 4 Pre-Mission sessions. In particular, participants will not be confirmed for the mission until after they attend the Mission Awareness session on Sunday 23 March. Please do not book travel until you have been officially confirmed for the mission.

LUGGAGE
Ensure you have spare luggage space 5 to 10 kgs to help carry up items for the mission.

TRAVEL
All participants must arrive on 14 June (morning) and depart only on/after 21 June. Battambang is a 5.5 hours’ drive from Phnom Penh International Airport so all participants need to board the bus in one departure.
