Sabai Dee! Come be part of our growing mission in Pakse, Laos, following two fruitful years of collaboration with the Lao Church community.
Pakse is situated in Southern Laos beside the Mekong River. As the country's second largest city, its province is dotted with many villages. Our work will support the Catholic Church in Pakse, which serves around 25,000 Catholics living across picturesque rural communities—spanning an area eight times larger than Singapore. Most residents are either farmers or daily wage earners working in rubber and coffee plantations. The region sits at approximately 1000m above sea level and enjoys a cool, lush climate averaging 22°C.
There is significant need for healthcare, education, training for local lay social workers and clergy, and community development. Church parishes act as hubs for outreach throughout these areas.
On this mission, ACTS will host a week long summer camp for about 250 children and youth, aiming to ignite their curiosity and foster learning through play and sports. We’ll teach IT skills, leadership, and life skills to prepare young people for future job opportunities.
Additionally, we’ll offer medical and dental services to several villages, benefiting about 1000 patients.
To help strengthen local pastoral capabilities, we’ll train Lao lay social workers and seminarians in planning, budgeting, counseling, and mobilizing their communities—enhancing both outreach and pastoral care. These efforts enable the church to better connect with the community and provide opportunities for all to share the love of Christ.

Estimated cost : S$1000-$1200 which covers airfare, accommodation, mission fees (including water, land transport and most meals) but excludes personal expenses.
Application dates: 4 Feb to 4 March 2026 (First come first served)
You will be informed to attend a Mission Awareness session where you can find out more our mission outreach and what is expected from you. If you are still interested to join us, you will be required to attend 3 more preparation sessions and other work planning meetings.
