2025 Mid-Year Missions

COMING SOON

ACTS NOV/DEC 2019 MISSION APPLICATION IS NOW OPEN

Participants may only apply for the mission on the website and are only confirmed to be registered after attending a compulsory "Mission Awareness" session. This is to help participants better understand the Mission and discern whether their expectations are in keeping with the Mission's objectives and requirements and avoid disappointment. ACTS welcomes participation by non-Catholics in our missions, who will also need to attend the "Mission Awareness" session to confirm their application.

The steps for registration are:

  1. Submit online application from 6th May to 5th June.
  2. Attend the compulsory Mission Awareness session on 23 June (For those who are unable to attend, a make-up session will be held on 5 July)
  3. After the Mission Awareness session, sign and submit the commitment undertaking form
  4. Following completion of steps 1-3, participants will then receive confirmation of registration, but subject to payment of mission fees and submission of indemnity forms
  5. Participants can then proceed to book their flights

ACTS BATTAMBANG, CAMBODIA

*Mission Size – 180 seats
7th to 14th Dec 2019

Battambang is the main city of Battambang Province and the third largest city in Cambodia. During the genocidal years of the Pol Pot regime 1975-1979, many priests, religious and lay Catholics were killed including the first Apostolic Prefect of Battambang, Bishop Paul Tep Im Sotha. In 1990 permission was given to Catholics to worship freely in Cambodia. In 2000, Enrique Figaredo (Monsignor Kike) was appointed Apostolic Prefect in Battambang. Bishop Kike has invited ACTS to work with the poor and needy in the field of education and health together with the Salesian sisters who help run the Don Bosco Cambodia Foundation.

Join us for a time of advent joy in service and giving to more than 8 parishes/villages. To engage with children and to help spruce up the infrastructure of village communities we are in need of creative and willing hands in the form of medically trained individuals, dentists, teachers, artists, musicians, dancers and anyone who can help with planning, organising, painting and packing.

Age limit for participants is 12 to 70.

Estimated cost: Approximately SGD350 for hotel and mission fees (includes transport and meals) and another $ 450 for airfare to Siem Reap or Phnom Penh depending on airline chosen.

All are welcome to make it an eventful and holy Advent Mission for Battambang and you. God Bless.

Located 45 min east of Mandalay city & within minutes to the Marian Shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Holy Rosary, the Don Bosco Vocational Training Institute & Salesian sisters’ home at Chantagone Paleik cares for girls doing their college education. The girls come from across the country and mainly from poor needy families. We are also in need of doctors and a triage team for health checks & education during the mission week for the many poor catholic families in the area.

Members/teachers/catechists are also needed to work with kindergarten, tuition children & conduct catechism classes, to paint (walls & murals) and carry out maintenance works. ACTS PHILIPPINES

*Mission Size – 50 seats
23rd Nov to 30th Nov 2019

We are blessed that we will be able to continue our annual one-week outreach mission to the Philippines again this year, in support of the Salesian Sisters based in Cavite and Manila. During this one-week program in late November, you will have the opportunity to participate in these programs:
-      engaging and befriending the children from the village through creative activities, games, song and dance
-      imparting value formation modules with children from Grade 5 students
-      engaging a cheerful group of seniors in games, song and dance
-      handing out love parcels to the villagers and the elderly

In working alongside with the Sisters and their local volunteers, participants will share in the lives of the people who live in the squatter areas in the outskirts of Manila, and be warmed by the cheerful disposition of the local residents despite their frugal conditions. Given that the Filipinos have a greater exposure to English, there is less of a language barrier in interacting with the local community.

The estimated cost per participant is SGD 350 to 500 inclusive of hotel accommodation (twin-share) and mission fees (covering meals, water & land transport) but excluding airfares and personal expenses. Age limit for participants is 15 to 70.
