Pope Francis Singapore 2024 – Community Welcome @ Jurassic Mile

ACTS Singapore is thrilled that His Holiness, Pope Francis, will be visiting Singapore.
We are invited to send participants to welcome him alongside other representatives when he arrives at Changi Airport.

Event information

The Pope is expected to land at Changi International Airport at 2.15pm on 11 September 2024. Participants will gather at their respective Church or assigned Church in the morning to travel by chartered buses to the Airport. They will be guided to stand at specific locations at the Welcome Driveway. Mini flags will be distributed for all to wave them in welcome as the Pope drives past. Volunteers should expect to be available from 11am to 4pm that day.

Criteria of Participants

The following are the requirements of the participants:

1. Age range: 70 years and below
2. Physical/ Medical Requirements
   a. Participants must be able to stand under the noon sun for a minimum of 1.5 hours.
   b. No wheelchairs, baby strollers, walking aids.
   c. No medical history of fainting spells/ vertigo/ syncope/ epileptic fits/ pregnant state.

Other details to note for participants attending the event

Security

1. Instructions
   a. Mandatory for participants to follow instructions from appointed event officials.
2. Security and ID Tags
   a. Participants will be tagged upon boarding the bus.
   b. Entry to site is by tags only.
   c. Event tags must be worn throughout the event.
   d. No professional photography or videography equipment allowed
   e. Bag check will be conducted onsite

Packing

1. Allowed
   a. One small waist pouch per participant
   b. Cap
   c. Phone
   d. Sunblock
2. Strictly Disallowed
   i. Umbrellas including foldables
   ii. Water bottles including soft plastic containers
   iii. All other bags including backpacks/handbags/plastic bags/paper bags/recyclable bags

Miscellaneous

1. Transport
   a. Mandatory to use the provided one way transport from designated pickup points to location.
   b. Participants will be responsible for their own return journey.
2. Items provided
   a. Water
   b. Vatican and Singapore flag (to be used only for Community Welcome). Note that these flags will NOT be allowed into the papal mass as per Vatican regulations.
3. Attire
   a. Shoulders and knees must be covered
   b. Avoid all-white tops, PFS yellow shirts preferred
4. Personal Comfort
   a. Eat before boarding buses as lunch is not provided.
   b. Limited public utilities at the site
   c. Covered shoes recommended.
5. Thrash Disposal
   a. Do not litter. Please take your trash with you when you leave.

Important : The organizer reserves the right to cancel the event at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances.
